Dr. Richard Welch is a double board-certified physician and medical director and owner of MD Cosmedx Laser and Wellness Center in Bowling Green, KY. With more than 18 years of experience in the medical field, he specializes in providing hormone replacement therapy and aesthetic treatments to adults of all ages. Dr. Welch has tried to bridge the gap between conventional medicine and more personalized, preventive, proactive medicine throughout his career.
Dr. Welch graduated from Western Kentucky University and earned his medical degree from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. He completed his residency training in the specialty of family medicine in Columbia, South Carolina at Richland Memorial Hospital. He has been fortunate to learn and train with some of the best physicians throughout the United States, in both aesthetics, bariatrics, and anti-aging medicine. Dr. Welch has advanced certification in bioidentical hormone replacement therapy and additional bariatric and aesthetic medicine training. He is licensed by the National Board of Medical Examiners with both the Kentucky and South Carolina Medical Boards. He previously worked as an associate member of PrimeCare Medicine Associates as well.

MD Cosmedx Laser and Wellness Center opened in 2004 as Southern Kentucky’s first advanced standalone aesthetic and laser/lipolysis center. Dr. Welch is also the medical director of the Doctors Diet Program of Kentucky, which opened in 2007. It was the first physician-supervised weight loss management center in Southern Kentucky focused on nutrition, exercise, and dietary supplements.
I have been a patient of Dr Welch since 2016 and cannot speak highly enough of him, not only is he extremely knowledgable but also has a very humane approach every time I have seen him, he shows a genuine interest in how I am and how me and my family are coping / feeling. Dr Welch and his team saved my life when all the odds were stacked against me, a truly remarkable human being.
